  1. AMDEK & SEARS Monitors

  3. There are many monitors around that work with the 64 that were made by a company called AMDEK that uses a wierd plug. Some are under store brands such as Sears.

  5. Below is some information on the plug and cable needed.

  7. DK> Sears carries the whole cable as: Div: 03  PLS: 626 Part#: 46-23802-3 Description: Cable 8Pin.  Price $56.99

  9. I would strongly suspect that is more than the value of the whole monitor!

  16. The putor end is the normal DB9 AMP connector,  pins are numbered:

  18.      1  2  3  4  5
  19.       6  7  8  9     male pins.

  21.    The other end is the AMDEK model, they are numbered:

  24.     5    6  7  8   (no 9)

  26. I will go from the putor to the monitor:

  28.     1 to 5 & 6 & ground
  29.     2 same as 1 
  30.     3 to 2
  31.     4 to 3
  32.     5 to 4
  33.     6 to 1
  34.     7   nc
  35.     8 to 7
  36.     9 to 8

  38. The space between 1-2 and 5-6 on the AMDEK male plug is the "key" as it is polarized. Funny two male plugs!
